Our registered massage therapist, Judy Gerber-van Vliet, has completed her first level of Manual Lymphatic Drainage with the Vodder School.
This technique may be incorporated into a Massage Therapy / Craniosacral Therapy session or as a stand-alone method of treatment.
What is Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)?
MLD is a very gentle massage technique which encourages the drainage of lymph. Lymph vessels carry waste products away from tissues and back toward the heart. Congestion can build in an area due to an injury or chronic inflammation. It can also be due to a compromised lymphatic system, such as when cancerous lymph nodes have been removed. Currently, we can help with clients who have a healthy lymphatic system.
How can MLD help?
In addition to decreasing pain and increasing relaxation, MLD can treat a variety of conditions, including acute injuries. Injuries have been known to heal more quickly and pain is decreased when MLD is used.
