Here is Stephanie Case, who happens to be one of the best ultra runners in the world! Kingston should be proud to have the connection to this athlete, as she competes in the world’s most gruelling races around the globe.
A list of some of her past race results include:
Racing The Planet’s 250 km self-supported footraces, 1st in Vietnam, 1st in Nepal, 2nd in Australia, 2nd in the Gobi, China
1st in Vermont’s 100 mile endurance race in 2010
Ran 640 km in 8 days for a charity run
She is currently training for the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc, a 100 mile run through the Swiss Alps from France through Italy and Switzerland, non stop! She is currently training for this crazy race as she works from a guarded compound in Afghanistan as a humans rights lawyer for the U.N. Talk about training under tough conditions!
As I have helped Stephanie in the past with her running injuries when she is in town, she sent me some great questions that would be helpful for all runners. These questions include when should runners see a chiropractor, is it ok to exercise after an adjustment, what is the difference between a physiotherapist and a chiropractor, and many more. So check out her blog at www.ultrarunnergirl.com to get the scoop! And if you see her running those crazy miles on the road around here, be sure to wave and shout out some encouragement!
