The Live Well Centre’s Run Strong Workout of the Week (WOW) is presented here by Crossfit coach Bob Pain. These workouts, along with his instructional classes, will improve your form and posture while running, which will make you a more powerful and efficient runner. This in turn will help prevent mechanical injuries, and improve your times.
Use these workouts as an adjunct to your overall training, combined with your strength workouts. The WOW workouts are primarily focused on improving your speed, strength and muscular endurance. Please call us or email Bob at email@example.com if you have any questions.
This weeks running workout is:
6 – 8 X 200 metres with 90 second rest in between each.
Try not to deviate more than 5 seconds.
To maximize intensity, a focused warm up is needed. Run 500 metres, warm up the hips with leg swings and walking lunges. Make sure the quads and hamstrings are feeling loose to make sure every interval is ran at full speed.
