Structured to Get You Fit Quickly!
Our Functional Fit classes are excellent 60-minute sessions based on the High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) program. HIIT workouts are intended to improve performance, build muscle and burn fat in short training sessions. Our Functional Fit classes start with a dynamic warm up to mobilize the body and get it ready for the workout. We always work on a new technique for a portion of the class. From ‘Turkish Get-Ups’ to Kettlebell swings to work with the agility ladder, we always work on a fun, new, exercise. We then do a HIIT workout, lasting anywhere between 7-18 minutes! We conclude our class by doing some mobility work for our muscles and joints. These HIIT workouts should be performed near maximum intensity, but they are so quick they are over before you know it! In less than 20 minutes, HIIT workouts burn more fat than cardio workouts and they are the quickest way to get fit and lose fat. It really is the best way to get a good workout with limited time!
Fun and Variety are the Key to Sustainability!
Also, you will never do the same workout twice! Each workout is always different to give variety and to work different muscle groups each class. No one wants to just do the same thing over and over again! The workouts usually consist of a lot of body weight exercises with often the use of free weights, kettlebells and medicine balls. This allows for excellent progressions to make the exercises easier or harder. Therefore we can have participants of a wide range of ability who can still all exercise together!
