What is a Glute Bridge??
The glute bridge strengthens the glutes and stabilizes the core when hips are in extension. This exercise is often used for prevention of lower back pain. Glute bridges don’t require any equipment but adding a barbell across the hips can make this exercise more of a challenging.
How do I do it??
Sit on the ground with your feet on the floor and your knees bent. Plant your feet firmly and thrust your hips up, pushing your belly button to the ceiling. Squeeze your glutes to create a bridge where your body is straight from your neck to your knees. Hold for 3-5 seconds, and then return to the starting position. This motion should cause your glutes to contract more than any other muscle group.
