What is it??
The Fire Hydrant is a great exercise to mobilize the hips and increase core, shoulder and hip stability. This exercise requires no equipment and can be done in under a minute. Add Fire Hydrants to your morning and evening routine!
How do I do it??
Start on all fours, hips over knees and shoulders over wrists. Lift one leg off the ground and perform ten circles from the knee; getting as large a range of motion as possible without moving your spine. Repeat in the opposite direction then switch sides. Make sure your spine is staying stable and all the movement is coming from the hips. Over time your mobility will increase and you will be able to complete larger circles.
